Hydrant Management Cell

A-state-of-the-art Hydrant Management Cell was established by Engr. Syed Salahuddin Ahmed, Managing Director/ CEO, KW&SC. The total... revenue of the Corporation's legal seven (07) hydrants stood at Rs.997.7 million during July, 2022 to May, 2023, whereas the figure surged to Rs. 1.66 billion from July, 2023 to May, 2024 marking the highest recorded revenue in the history of the Hydrant Cell owing to the robust operations conducted by KW&SC against illegal water hydrants and connections with the assistance of Pakistan Rangers Sindh

Rangers and KW&SC join forces against Illegal Hydrants

Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation with the assistance of Pakistan Rangers Sindh has conducted operations against the theft of water..... whereby 243 illegal hydrants were demolished, 300 tankers seized, 180 persons arrested and around 200 FIRs were lodged against the miscreants. The actions, according to the paramilitary force and Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) Managing Director/ CEO, has resulted in saving of 100 Million Gallons Daily (MGD). These illegal hydrants and connections have incurred a loss of around Rs. 13 billion to the exchequer of KW&SC. In a joint press conference at the Rangers Headquarters, the officials said the water was illegally being sold to commercial and domestic consumers at more than two or three times the official rates, causing the loss of around Rs. 13 billion. Never in the history of Karachi, have such actions taken against the illegal hydrant mafia on such a large scale. KW&SC with the help of Law Enforcement Agencies is committed to provision of Water to the citizens of Karachi.

Fareeda Salam Development Center

The Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) has established the Fareeda Salarm Women Development Center (FSWDC), named after its.... first female Managing Director, with an annual budget of Rs. 10.5 million. This center aims to address gender gaps within the organization, creating a more inclusive work environment for female staff. The center is equipped with facilities like a daycare, rest room, prayer area, kitchen, and tailored workspaces. The FSDC is led by a Gender Specialist and will implement a comprehensive Gender Action Plan (GAP). Additionally, it will oversee the creation of ten dedicated washrooms for female staff in KW&SC offices across Karachi, demonstrating a strong commitment to gender equality and inclusion.
